When: Monthly on Wednesdays
1st Wednesday 10.00 to 12.00.
Venue: Members' Homes

What: Our journey through Ancient History starts around 4,000BC and will end 4,500 years later in Roman Britain from the ancient city of Ur to the fall of the Roman Empire.

Main topics will include:-

- Mesopotamia - Peoples, tribes, settlement, cities, wars and territorial expansion

• Language, writing, “technology”

• The growth of empires, Persia, Egypt, Greece & Rome

• Religions, science and philosophy

• Kings, Queens, Pharaohs, Emperors

• Classical writing, plays, poetry, mythology

Also some anthropology and topics such as the discovery of DNA and how it has advanced archaeology, important archeologists and a few other side-steps
