What: We are a friendly group who walk on the first Thursday of each month. The walk is repeated on the following Wednesday and members have the option to walk on either day or both. Typically there are 10 to 20 people on each walk.
The walks are led by various members of the group who volunteer to do so and take place within a 20 mile radius of Bearsted. The pace is moderate and the terrain mixed but not particularly challenging. We meet at 09.45 ready to start at 10.00 and walks generally last around 2 hours covering circa 4-4.5 miles.
There is the option to stay on for lunch afterwards at a nearby pub or café. We often start and finish at a pub or a venue with a café to make use of their car parking facilities.
Details of the up-coming walk are emailed to all members around 10-14 days in advance. This will include directions to the location where we are to meet and an idea of the distance, terrain and any particular hazards that are anticipated. It will also give details of the lunch venue. All members asked to respond to the walk leader and the group co-ordinator to advise whether or not they will be attending and if so which day (or both) and whether they will be staying for lunch.
When: The group meets at the agreed starting point on the first Thursday of the month 10:00 am - 12:00 noon. The walk is replicated on the following Wednesday 10:00 am - 12:00 noon.
