Welcome to Bearsted & District u3a
The U3A movement is a wonderfully unique community where retired and semi‑retired people can come together to share interests, make new friends, and enjoy learning purely for the pleasure of it. Across the country, local U3As offer countless opportunities to explore new ideas, discover new passions, and simply enjoy the joy of learning together. Live, Learn, Laugh!
Please note that the next meeting at Detling is NOT on 9th April as would be normal but is on 30 April
due to Canterbury pilgrims camping in the hall.
MONTHLY MEETINGS
We meet at 2:00 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month at Detling Village Hall, Pilgrim's Way, Detling, Kent, ME14 3EY. For information on how to get there and more details of the hall, please goto Detling Village Hall Visitors are always welcome and there is no charge for your first two visits.
Please Note: In April 2026, because the Detling Village Hall is not available to us on the second Thursday of the month, the meeting will take place on the fifth Thursday, the 30th April.

We are a friendly organisation, welcoming individuals from Bearsted and surrounding areas. We held our first meeting in 2013 and this year have enrolled over 250 members.
We are a self-help community, where members share their knowledge, experience, skills and life experiences.
We all help with the activities and administration of our u3a with an annually elected committee overseeing our affairs.
SPEAKERS
We have excellent Speakers each month. We have a full programme arranged for the coming year and you can find out what we have on offer by clicking on the Programme Leaflet button above.
GROUPS
We have over 40 Special Interest Groups that you can find more about on the Groups Page. Whenever a group is full we start up a waiting list for another!
